Features of the organization:
( Many organizations may incorporate one or more of these
features – I do not know of any organizations that incorporate all/most of it
)
- Recruitment
of bright practical thinkers will be a major activity ( this has to be
distinguished from the typical HR done by organizations where
job/responsibility is equated to experience/education/skill ) This work is
absolutely crucial. The most common and biggest mistake (IMNHO)
that most bright people do is to jump headlong into everyday problem
solving. In a group of bright people time must be dedicated to recruiting bright people. Recognizing intelligence can be done only
by intelligent people and this work cannot be easily delegated to people of
lower intelligence. ( foresight – this is going to be difficult to
implement) Some sort of training and counseling of people should be in place
to constantly hammer in the fact that they must not get lost in work.
- Bright
people must be pushed to the top of the hierarchy as soon as possible. Quite
often young people are doing menial jobs and that is not productive for
the overall group. Many founders of extraordinary organizations get
too caught up in the running of their organization and overlook the fact
that there are potential bright people struggling to
get a foothold. Many founders do not actively search is what I’m
aware off. ( paradoxically they are tormented by the fact of how lonely it's
up there at the top of the hierarchy ). Or perhaps they do
not know where to look for. Things are now better with the internet.

- Layoff
are almost always not acceptable. With appropriate division of work and
commonsensical economics it's nearly always possible to divide work.
Exception-People below a certain level of intellect may only work if there
the threat of layoff looming large.
- Alpha
males must not get to the top - they set a bad precedent which is extremely
difficult ( if not impossible ) to rectify. A look at most governments is an
example. Paradoxically people who are right for a job quite often don't want to do it.
Extraordinary privileges/incentives must be granted to them. ( including
security in the form of anonymity or otherwise )
- All
people in the organization must have a rating or number. ( foresight – this is going to be difficult
to implement)
- When
an organization grows bickering among friends/relatives who started out as equal
partners may break out. While they were an important part of the business/venture when it started
out they should not be given the same powers unless they are meritorious
enough. Having mediocre people at the helm of affair not only affect the
quality of work but it also discourages bright/capable people from staying
on in the organization
- Some
people may be just designated to think- to have an objective view one must
not be overly involved in day to day affairs. It's easy to get caught up
in everyday affairs ( personal or otherwise) and not have time for
thinking.
- If a
particular individual/group wants to break off - it must be done in a non-acrimonious manner. If
necessary the break-away group/individual
can be sufficiently supported in his/their new venture. If the
individual fails he/she must be allowed to join back in a respectable manner.
